Hands down, having Laura as our doula for our third baby was the best birthing decision we made. I wish we had brought her in for my first two kiddos! Her expertise in pain management paired with her calming demeanor and kind words made my delivery the best I’ve had. Her presence for each aspect of the delivery was so beneficial. Her follow up care as a post partum doula was also something I wish I had known about with my first two children!! She checked in on me and helped get me set up with a nursing specialist when breastfeeding issues came up that first week. Having an outside person check in on my mental and emotional status was so necessary and I didn’t even know I would need that. Couldn’t recommend her more! Going into my third pregnancy & desiring to have a VBA2C (vaginal birth after 2 cesareans) I knew I needed that extra support! Laura was that and so much more for me during my pregnancy leading up to birth, and throughout the 48 hours of my labor and birth. She listened to what I envisioned this birth to look like, and she helped me advocate for that, as well as supported me and continued to encourage me when things didn’t go as planned. I was able to get my VBA2C and could not have had a better doula/friend there cheering me on! I highly recommend Laura attending your birth! Her presence was a blessing to us during this time❤

I can’t even describe how helpful it was to have Laura there to support my labor this second time around. It made a world of a difference! Just like my first labor experience, it all happened so fast, but by having a homebirth with Laura as my doula, I was able to enjoy the process far more, and to utilize several natural pain-management techniques that I didn’t get to try when laboring in a birth center. All throughout my pregnancy, she provided encouragement and advice on how to manage the pain and discomfort that often come with pregnancy, both in-person and via social media, texts, and calls. I loved having someone to confide in and reach out to whenever I had a question or just wanted a friend to talk to. Laura helped me keep track of my progress and she sent sweet and encouraging reminders that had me looking forward to each new week. She made sure to be informed and up-to-date on my birth plan and preferences, and it was very clear to me that she put in the effort to memorize and fully understand my wishes. When it came time to labor, she knew all of my preferences as well as I did, and I knew she was ready to stand up for me if anything seemed to be going astray.
From offering perfectly timed counter-pressure during contractions, to helping me find better laboring positions and reminding me to move and switch positions occasionally, to providing water and cold compresses as desired, to saving the day by bringing a birth pool to my home just hours before I went into active labor (seriously...Laura is a Godsend!!), to having her speak words of peace and strength over me, it was all so immensely helpful. And I know there are things she did that I wasn’t even aware of as I was too ‘in the zone.’ But one thing I do know for sure is that Laura is truly the best doula anyone could ask for. If I could only use a few words to describe my experience with her, they would be supported, valued, and respected. All the things a birthing woman needs to feel in order to have a happy, healthy, successful birth experience.

I didn’t know Laura would be the one who entered my room on Friday, November 13th, 2020 in the early morning hours. In fact, I was expecting a different (fabulous) doula who I had been working with, but was unable to attend (for good reason!). However, the Lord knew who I needed in that moment and without a doubt I know Laura was suppose to be present for my delivery. Her ability to remain calm and help me through contractions with different techniques helped me to relax. Her quickness to provide for my needs reassured me that I was going to have support no matter what was thrown our way. As I pushed, my strength seemed to be wavering, but I was renewed by her encouraging words. Her suggestion to listen to music helped me remain grounded and calm between pushes. Not only did she support me - she empowered me. It was clear she valued both me and my baby boy. I could share numerous other examples of how amazing Laura is, but for the sake of time and space in a single post I’ll end with this. Laura walked through the door without knowing my birth plan, but she became one of the very best parts of my birth story. I couldn’t imagine having anyone else. I highly recommend her to any and everyone!

The best thing I did for myself was book Laura as a post-partum doula. If you’re pregnant and thinking about it; do it! Laura was so sweet and supportive. She was such a helpful and calming presence in my home as I was adjusting to my new baby. She’s very passionate about her role, and so knowledgeable. She’s so easy to connect with, and I feel like I’ve also made a friend! Laura did so many things to support me without even asking. I’m not someone to ask for help, and she was always doing thoughtful things to help me. She definitely made me feel less stressed and so supported. She also lightened my load on my house work by helping with laundry, dishes, and tidying up here and there. Additionally, she made sure I took care of myself too, and definitely pushed the water to keep me hydrated. Thanks Laura, I’m so thankful you took me as a client!

Where to even start… Laura is absolutely amazing!! I decided to have a home birth when I was 28 weeks pregnant and my midwife informed me I would need to find a doula since I am a FTM. I found Laura in a mom group that I am in and from our very first meeting I knew she was going to be a godsend. I met her at I believe 30 weeks pregnant and I had a lot of anxiety being in the 3rd trimester and knowing my pregnancy was coming to an end and not knowing exactly how it was all going to play out, but Laura was there for every up and down. We had a few false alarms where I thought I was going into labor and when it would turn out to not be real labor and I would feel disappointed Laura would always have the right words to cheer me up! In the end I opted for a hospital delivery for personal reasons. I finally went into labor at 41 weeks and 1 day and when labor hit it hit hard. I labored without meds for 14 hours and Laura is a huge part of why I lasted that long, she was so soothing and helped to keep me centered and focusing on my breath. Finally, I was so exhausted that I accepted the epidural, even though it wasn’t part of my birth plan. She let me know it’s okay to make changes to birth plans and that sometimes things just don’t go the way we plan it on paper. After pushing for almost 5 hours, I finally delivered at 41 weeks and 2 days! Laura cut our baby’s cord making him a true part of our world! I will forever be grateful to Laura for her support and guidance and the special part she played in my birth story! Laura was a blessing to us on our baby boys birthday, with it being Friday the 13th in 2020 who knows what could have happened. We were blessed to have Laura there to help my wife with everything she needed. I am not the best at supporting if I don’t know what to do, and as a professional she did the absolute best for my wife, without even knowing her. Crushed it 100x over! I would recommend anyone to hire a doula to make the special day that much better, my wife’s labor could not have gone any smoother and I believe it was a lot to do with Laura and how great she was. Would recommend her to anyone any day!

Having Laura by our side during labor was the best decision we made in our pregnancy journey. She was there to support me every moment of the 24 hours of natural labor, as well as amazing support before and after. She helped me advocate for myself, and made sure I had all the tools to be fully educated and informed on every decision I made. The natural pain management techniques and commitment to a comfortable soothing birth space she brought made me able to look back on my long and difficult labor and feel positive and empowered by it. We cannot recommend Laura's doula services enough.

When my wife and I embarked on our pregnancy journey we weren't quite sure what exactly it is we wanted. As the weeks progressed she made the decision to have an unmedicated birth. We both agree that hiring Laura as our doula was the best decision we made throughout the entire pregnancy.
Laura easily and comfortably guided us through decisions and planning that ended up being crucial to the success of the birth of my son. Laura was there for us as an advocate, coach, and support person from start to finish. Having never gone through this before Laura helped me support my wife and for that I'm grateful.

From the day I found out I was expecting, Laura has been there for us every step of the way. She brings not only a plethora of knowledge about births and pregnancy, but a variety of resources, support, and guidance. She was and continues to be available with all my questions, even into our postpartum journey.
Laura not only provides professionalism and support, but also kindness and compassion. She made my birthing experience calm and full of love. I absolutely loved my experience of having a doula and feel incredibly blessed to have Laura by my side especially with only being allowed to have one support person with me while in labor. You do not realize how much time you spend in labor in the room without a nurse or doctor present so having someone who has experience be able to make suggestions is life changing. My pregnancy got complicated very quickly and I know having Laura in the room really helped ease mine and Scott’s anxieties.

Laura was such an essential member to my birth team. I planned for a natural delivery and I can’t imagine not having Laura by our sides throughout the entire pregnancy or labor. She showed us so much support and listened to all of our preferences. Laura was knowledgeable and helped us navigate all the unknowns and unexpected events throughout my delivery as well. She advocated for us and our preferences every step of the way. She stayed for the entire labor (41 hours!) and even slept on the floor of our hospital room. Laura encouraged us both with words of wisdom and experience. She coached Sam on how to best support me through contractions and she even brought him food when he needed some fuel. Laura gives excellent support through labor. She spent hours giving me hip squeezes to help me cope with contractions. She was able to suggest different positions and coping strategies when I needed them most. She checked in on us several times postpartum and brought a nutritious meal when I needed it most. Laura is an amazing photographer and she captured photos that we will cherish forever! I can’t express how crucial she was to my birth team. & We’ve gained a forever friend! I would recommend Laura to anyone who is expecting a baby!

The story of how my second son arrived is forever blessed by the fact that Laura was there to support us through pregnancy, birth, and after. She reminded me of my center, helped pivot when necessary, and held the vision throughout. She was extremely knowledgeable and advocated her heart out for a birth that kept me in my power. Laura and her postpartum services were a godsend after the birth of my first child. She had a way of knowing exactly what was most helpful at any moment. Grocery shopping, cooking and baking wholesome food, tidying up, and helping with my newborn - Laura did it all. Not only was she the single most helpful visitor in my home during such a precious and vulnerable time, she also had the most supportive and encouraging words in difficult moments. I initially chose Laura to be my doula because of her knowledge of using essential oils in labor. Even more valuable was her calming presence as she held me through every stage of labor, delivery, and postpartum. Laura was my doula for both of my son's births. My first birth (in the hospital), Laura was a crucial member of my birth team, supporting my choices, providing comfort measures, and creating a comfortable environment to labor in. She didn't leave my side for over 20 hours and was a key factor in my successful natural birth. When I got pregnant again I had no doubt she would be on my birth team again, and she supported my homebirth in much the same way. Laura is very involved in the birth community, and is constantly looking to learn and stay up to date on the best ways to support birthing families.
