LAURA WILLIAMSON
Hey y'all! Laura Williamson, here. I'm a birth and postpartum doula living in Lexington, Kentucky. My story with birth work starts when I was 8 years old at the birth of my brother. My life was forever changed that day! There is nothing more beautiful than a woman in her power, bringing life into this world. I attended the birth of another brother four years later, and a friend's birth when I was in college. For two years, I was a student at the University of Kentucky, but knew it wasn't where I was meant to be. God put me on this earth for a reason and I was determined to find it! While on a mission trip when I was 21, I met my wonderful husband, Shane, and we got married in September 2018. He is an amazingly supportive man who cheers me on to chase my hopes and dreams. We hope to have all the babies, someday. After finding out about the work doulas do, I went on to complete a postpartum doula training and 2 birth doula trainings. For 10 years, I enjoyed helping many Lexington families as a nanny and mother's helper before diving into doula work, full time. My purpose is to stand by women as they discover what it is they truly want for their births and motherhood, and helping them make that happen. Mothers and babies deserve the best of the best from pregnancy to postpartum. I hope to educate, advocate, and empower people in our community to make this a reality. I am so grateful to be a part of your village!!
